Top 3 IWC Watches: Da Vinci Collection

The designs on the IWC watches are quite iconic and usually have a lot of history behind the collections they release, the partnerships that they do. So a lot of thought is put into the entire company, which is why it has such a significant standing amongst the several other watchmaking companies that are operating in the market currently.

As is obvious by the name of this particular collection, this collection of IWC watches of 2017 is inspired by the history and art of Da Vinci.

Listed below are the top 3 IWC watches from this collection:

1.    Tourbillon Retrograde Chronograph

With an alligator skin leather strap in a striking dark brown colour, this watch is the epitome of what someone would consider as the classiest watch for men. The case of this watch is made from red gold 18-carat. The watch hands and markings are also made from the same material. On The left-hand side of the watch, near the 9-hour mark, there are markings from 1-31 which display the date of the month. At the 12 hour mark, the watch has second’s subdial and a tourbillon at the 6 o clock mark.

2.    Perpetual Calendar Chronograph

Featuring a black alligator skin leather strap with a stainless steel case looks ravishingly perfect. The dial itself is a gorgeous steel grey colour which goes perfectly with the black and silver combination of the strap and the case. The features on this watch are quite differently placed which makes this watch one of a kind. At the 3 o clock mark, there is a subdial which shows the days of the month from the 1st to the 31st.

The subdial placed at the 6 o clock mark shows the months while the 9-hour mark shows the days in a week. Right beside the month subdial is the year indicator as well. With the best saved for last, at the 12-hour mark is a dark blue second’s subdial with a Moon indicator. This Moon indicator shows the size/shape of the Moon as it changes over the month.

3.    Automatic 36

A gorgeous yet strikingly simple watch for ladies dons a beautiful 18-carat red gold bracelet and case. The bezel of this watch is encrusted with diamonds. The dial is a bright white in perfect contrast with the red gold outer case. the hourly markings and hands of the watch are also a red gold 18-carat material. To add the perfect amount of colour, this watch has a dark blue seconds hand that is centred. To add to that, it has a date feature at the 6 o clock mark.

Something about this watch which makes it unique amongst the other IWC watches is that it has the “flower of life” engraved on the underside of the case. This “flower of life” depicts Da Vinci’s love for mathematics and his research about the many mathematical rules that exist on this subject to find the perfect proportions. Another good thing about this watch is that it also comes in a stainless steel version of the same design.
